The Sun-Mar 200 is a 6 bushel or 50 gallon continuous composter that is excellent for composting kitchen scraps and a few garden trimmings.

This unit incorporates Sun-Mar’s patented double drum AutoFlow design. With Autoflow, material goes in the top and compost exits automatically out the end. As the drum rotates, compost moves along the outer drum and then back through the inner drum before dropping from the output port.

*Compost discharges automatically

*Pest Proof

*No waiting for batches to finish

*Fast and Odorless

*Easy loading and turning

* Solid construction -UV stabilized Poly-ethylene -100% recyclable

Assembly is easy!

Because so few pieces are used the SUN-MAR 200 can be assembled in 2 minutes, the 400 in 5 minutes and the 600 in 15 minutes. Tell us how long it took you!

Operation of the 200

In the 200, material is added by sliding the input door open. To mix and aerate the compost, the drum is rotated using four finger friendly slots running along the outside of the drum.

Compost is removed by opening the output port, rotating the drum and allowing compost to fall from the inner drum into a bushel basket or other container.

The diagram shows how material moves into and along the outer drum. A scoop on the inner drum (not shown) collects material and pushes it along the inner drum, exiting through the output port.

PLEASE, NO PO BOXES – STREET ADDRESS ONLY!

Sun-Mar (S) warehouse is 99% in stock.

Sun-Mar ships UPS or Fedex to street addresses only, Ground or Express, from their Buffalo warehouse. Heavier items will ship via common carrier. You will be given the Express option on checkout.

You will get the tracking number to your email as shipment confirmation.

Since HI, AK & US Territories force air shipment, air ship rates will be applied to your order.
There is no flushing on the non-electric (NE) composting toilets, the waste drops directly into the composting drum. The process of composting really needs no electricty, since it is bacteria and oxygen powered. The drum is tumbled once or twice a week with the attached handle to oxygenate the compost.

The electric units have a heating element and fan built in that evaporates excess moisture and circulates air to aid in the composting process. The non electric units use an evaporation tray, but also have an overflow drain fitting for excess liquid. The non-electric units require a bigger (4”) vent stack to facilitate the chimney effect of the natural drafting.

Vent kits for 2" pipe include two 45° and one 90° elbow in addition to the necessary connectors.

Non-Electric 4" kits include only connectors, except for the 4" CENTREX 2000 A/F NE and Centrex 3000 A/F NE units which also have two 45° elbows and a 2.4 Watt 12 Volt fan for installation in the vent stack.

AC/DC units have a complete 4" vent kit in addition to a 2" kit, plus a 2.4 Watt 12 Volt Fan for installation in the 4" vent.

Also Included:
Waste inlet assembly for all central units and a complete waste inlet piping kit for A/F units
10 feet of 1" diameter drain hose for all central units.
Evaporating tray for placing under the drum screen to catch excess peat moss.

Vent Stacks
One of the main tasks is the installation of the vent stack, which is included with all units.

The vent kits included in the shipping carton are sufficient for installation in most single story buildings. If more is needed they are normally easy to find. All vent pipes are thinwall PVC.

For more vent stack installation information, go here: http://www.sun-mar.com/insta_cent_vent.html

Toilet Installation
The second main task of installing a central unit is the waste piping installation. Go here for full information on how to do this: http://www.sun-mar.com/insta_cent_pipe.html

Electrical
All electric units are supplied with a power cord and pre-molded plug which connects to a standard (3) pin 115 Volt outlet and powers both the fan and heating element. 12 Volt fans for non-electric models can be installed in-line with the stack, and connected to a battery which draws from an alternate source of energy, such as a solar panel. Drains Central units are all fitted with 1" drains, which should be connected to an approved drain pit, container, or other facility. Go here for more information on handling excess liquid: http://www.sun-mar.com/installation/excessliquid.php

Winter Use
SUN-MAR units serve as a reliable year-round facility when prepared for continuous or periodic use during the cold winter months. If you use your cabin only once in a while in the winter, the unit may be used as a holding tank during this time. If your SUN-MAR will be in use every weekend in the winter, or in a residence, the temperature must be kept above 55 degrees F at all times to keep the compost going. Every living organism consumes nutrients and creates waste. To transform waste back to nutrients and complete this cycle, nature uses the processes of decompostition and evaporation. As is often the case, nature seems to be doing business in the best way possible.

That's why Sun-Mar toilets are designed not only to harness these natural processes, but to optimize and accelerate them.

Toilet waste is over 90% water content. This can be evaporated and carried back to the atmosphere through the vent system. The small amount of remaining material is recycled into a useful fertilizing soil.
